This Summer the World Heritage Site Røros offers many different ways to see the exciting countryside from your bike.
You can choose the length of your trip; two-, three, or five-day trips including accommodations in one of the local hotels. Three brand new tracks for you to explore in and around the historical sites of Røros; Storwartz, Nordgruvfeltet and Mølmannsdalen incl. Skåkåsen.
You can also rent a bike. You’ll stay at a hotel in the World Heritage Site Røros and take your bike out for trips in beautiful and exciting surroundings.
The three tracks Storwartz, Nordgruvfeltet and Mølmannsdalen make up three hundred kilometers of trails that are equally suitable for hiking or biking.
The three areas have their own themed trails: “In the footsteps of the miner” (Storwartz), “Biking in Falkbergets realm” (Nordgruvfeltet) and “Remains of the Ice Age” (Mølmannsdalen).
When you arrive at your hotel, you’ll receive a folder with maps and a description of the trails. Furthermore, you’ll get information about local specialties and more to experience during your stay. There are no guided tours, since the trails are marked in a way that makes it easy to find your way around. The trails are marked GREEN and BLUE. You can also combine several trails to vary the length according to your wishes.

Nordgruvfeltet – Biking in Falkbergets realm
The author Johan Falkberget lived and worked in this area for the most part of his life. Here he found the inspiration to put to paper some of his greatest works. Christianus Sextus, Muggruva and several other mines. The track runs past the Falkberget museum.
Storwartz – In the footsteps of the miner
The history of Røros had its start here. Experience the history of the Røros Copper Company by visiting the Olav mine – including concerts in the Summer.
Mølmannsdalen – Remains of the Ice Age
Experience firsthand the countryside as the last Ice Age has left it. The trail takes you along idyllic waters and formations from the last Ice Age in easy but varied terrain.
