Try your hand at dog sledding! We will take you on a three-hour mountain trip and you will feel your face tingle in the breeze of the crisp mountain air as the dogs give their all for you.

One of the highpoints of the tour is experiencing the close bond between the dogs and their mushers at checkpoint Orkelbogen, which is well over halfway into the Femund Race.

Watching well-trained teams of dogs racing excitedly through the gateway of a checkpoint before they settle peacefully down to rest is not an everyday experience. Add to this the special light and dark of the northern winter and the silences between each crunch of your feet on the snow – and you can see this is one of those things you are going to want on that bucket list.

Perhaps more than once! You may be fortunate enough to experience the Aurora Borealis or, if it is very cold, you can relax by the crackling fireplace and follow the race via the tracking system.

Back in Røros, you can take a break at Kaffestuggu, the town’s oldest restaurant. Let the sights and sounds you have experienced so far sink in before you enjoy a good meal – then return to the snowy street and watch the teams cross the finishing line.
