Cooperation
To get the best result in developing a sustainable waste system, Destination Røros brought together municipalities, waste companies and local industry to work with the process. Working together, the players decided to carry out a design project for waste containers.
Students involved
25 students at NTNU were engaged to find solutions for waste containers adapted to the World Heritage Site of Røros Mining Town and the Circumference and sustainability. The work resulted in 5 different waste containers. They were presented on the national sustainability conference in January 2012.
Everyone gets a vote
In the process of picking the best and most suited waste container, the people in Røros have voted on their favourite. This has been taken into consideration when the municipality of Røros will decide on the one that gets chosen.
Focus on a clean environment
All year, especially in the spring when the snow disappears, all local authorities work together cleaning the streets of Røros, keeping the town clean and maintained.
