This year’s big family film from Disney is the winter film «Frozen». Several scenes in the film are inspired by people and attractions in Trøndelag.

Disney inspired by Trøndelag / Central Norway

In March 2012 a team from the media giant Disney was on a tour in Norway. The aim of the trip was to find inspiration for the new family film Frozen, or `Frost`, as it is called in Norwegian.

Frozen elements from Røros

At Røros Disney visited Rørosrein, where they got to know both reindeers and people. The Disney team learned about what kind of equipment is used when Rørosrein offer sleigh rides with reindeers, and Magne Eggen Haugom also showed some traditional winter clothing, like “vadmelstrøye” and “skallesko”. The reindeer character Sven and the mountain man Kristoff both have obvious features from this meeting. Winter landscape similar to what you find surrounding Røros is also seen in the movie.
